Description

Sunstone (aventurine fissure)

Mineralogy: Sunstone is a plagioclase, a mixed crystal of sodium and calcium feldspar, with red-brown glittering (aventurising) inclusions. It can be a plagioclase formed in silica-rich pegmatites with inclusions of brown haematite platelets or a volcanically formed plagioclase with inclusions of solid copper (framework silicate, triclinic, primary).
