Labradorite (feldspar)
Mineralogy: Colourful iridescent feldspar (framework silicate, triclinic, primary)
Labradorite is a mixed crystal of the feldspars albite and anorthite (plagioclase mixed crystal series), which is formed in pegmatites and basic magmatites. It gets its iridescent colours from fine lamellae on which the incident light refracts. A black labradorite with a colourful play of light is also called spectrolite.
MythologyLabradorite was first found on the Labrador Peninsula in 1770, spectrolite was only discovered in Finland in the 20th century. No traditional tradition is known for either.

Rose quartz (quartz)

MineralogyPink-coloured quartz (silicon dioxide, trigonal, primary)

It is magmatic in origin and forms large masses in pegmatites. Its colour is caused by fibrous dumortierite inclusions. Asterism (star formation) can occur when dumortierite or rutile fibres are orientated in the quartz crystal lattice.

MythologyRose quartz has been considered a fertility stone for centuries. It was used to heal heart complaints and women's ailments, but also for love spells, i.e. "matters of the heart" in the figurative sense.

Spiritual makes rose quartz gentle, but firm. The result is by no means compliance, but rather the awareness that "the soft and gentle overcomes the hard and strong". Rose quartz promotes helpfulness, open-mindedness and the desire for a cosy atmosphere.
